about

People have so often forgotten that they are really not that special. Instead some have even thought of themselves as gods. This song asks the listener to ask themselves who is king. This is not about religion - it is about equilibrium.

lyrics

There’s been a many soldiers that have been to war
All hoping they would be free
When not too many one of them would be told
God not man is king

Some call it glory; some call it queer
Others call it a way of life
But few see it only as a means by which to be
Something greater than death

Come and be – we’re the only one to take
Thought they’ve closed the door
A long time ago when I used to write in rhymes
I can’t do that anymore

We all fall upon the time that we are in
There’s no want in coming down
And if you live among the friends you have known to be
Don’t count your blessings out too loud

As you read further you find I start to fade
From the theme I’m supposed to weave
Could be right you know I’ve never been misled
To guess it keeps me where I breathe

There’s been a many people that have had a many wars
All hoping they could be free
When far too many one of them would be told
Man not God is king
