Halfway up Mount Catachresis, Axel enters a small village. A public trial is taking place in the town’s center. The accused man, Naoki, is read the account of his crime.he is accused of making an attempt to go to Kialo without consent of the High Justice, The man, whose name is Naoki, is a gentle man and one who is honest and trustworthy. The court orders him to be executed. Axel watches in horror as Naoki is shot to death. The people of the village shout with glee.
