Culture, as I see it, is in serious trouble. No offence meant to Toronto, but as an ex-Montrealer, I have remained flabbergasted as to the lack of understanding about what culture is amongst the people where I have spent the majority of my adult life. Toronto should have a culture. And if you look deep into it you WILL find some. But it is buried in a sea of imported culture. It's not that Toronto does not have the means or talent to have a culture. What stands in the way is the money that controls it. As not only a person who grew up in Montreal but one who is originally from Europe and one who was reared with culture the only thing I can say about Toronto and its confusion about what culture is is that culture is being tortured. Sad but true.
lyrics
Culture scratching; urban instinct
Pagan pagan; crawling around crawling around
Will you concede again – dream of body and soul
Distorted dissonance contorted on a cross
Culture beware this is a nightmare
Culture diving; further under
Banshee banshee; wailing around wailing around
Will you not sing again – touch effeminate cry
Tied to a beast with fire for its eyes
Culture beware this is a nightmare
Culture intake; power curbed on
Demon demon; robbing around robbing around
We'll sacrifice again – burning out of control
Spike for the fit ensures the blood to flow
Culture beware this is a nightmare
They torture you – they torture me
