This vampy song is a commentary on my disdain for conformity. The female noun is used to illustrate the sensitive nature of human identity, which is constantly being aggressively altered by external forces. The Procrustean bed allusion serves to drive home my rejection of forced behavior which, when forsaken, often ends with total exclusion from social acceptance. Auto Da Fe is pronounced and all nonconforming individuals become pariahs in this broken society.
lyrics
It’s dead for the living, living for the dead.
She couldn’t survive long without a head.
Deep in the crypt she’s penalized.
On The Bed of Procrustes, still she lies.
She’s turning in her grave.
Wearing her fingers down to the bone.
She’s turning in her grave.
As much as I objected they took her away.
This part of life, Auto Da Fe.
They put her in a box in the sub-terrain.
But in the still of night, she screams my name.
She’s turning in her grave.
